Valley Road Community Primary School

This national £4.7 million flagship development of a new community primary school was part-funded by Back on the Map.  State-of-the-art community facilities including an indoor street exhibition area with a café, meeting rooms, consultation rooms for accessing health services and an ICT facility.  The School provides an integrated approach to learning through school and community facilities.  Educational attainment and participation in lifelong learning has improved.  Parent and family involvement is a fundamental part of the school structure and community facilities provide a range of services of benefit to the whole community.  The school opened in January 2003.
