What is the People's Fund?

Every year Back on the Map allocates £50,000 to People's Fund, to be decided using Participatory Budgeting. There are three events a year held in a community venue: two with a pot of £15,000 and one with a pot of £20,000.

Groups in the Hendon and East End area can apply for up to £2,000 to support activities and projects.

Applications can be made in any one of the following categories:

• Healthier lifestyles
• Celebrating life in the East End and Hendon
• Provision for ethnic minorities
• Provision for young people
• Provision for older people
• Small grants

The wider community is invited to register to vote on the day. A panel of up to 100 people listen to presentations from each of the applicants and they also receive a booklet with more information on each project. They use this information to decide which projects they would like to support.

The successful projects are now being asked to report back to us in more detail so that we can improve our monitoring of how many people have benefited from People's Fund.
