A Sunderland regeneration programme is giving local residents a behind the scenes view of its improvement works with a series of open days at one of its refurbished properties.

A new scheme has been launched to tackle the number of burglaries that occur in empty properties in the Hendon and East End area.  Led by Sunderland City Council and working in partnership with Back on the Map and Northumbria Police, it aims to reduce criminal behaviour and burglaries in the area.
