Voting and Scoring

Back on the Map board members and agency representatives are not allowed to vote on the day. Applicants are not able to vote for their own project. Voters use an electronic voting keypad (E-voting) to give each application a score between zero and five.

This electronic system prevents people from voting more than once, and it is simple to use, making it popular with both voters and organisers.

Any project scoring an average of less than 40% is automatically unsuccessful. The responses from the electronic keypads are logged by the system and the bids are arranged in order of popularity. Each of the six categories has an allocated proportion of the main pot, and the funds are given to the most popular projects in these categories.

If there are any unallocated funds in a category, the remaining money is divided between any pots that were oversubscribed.
