Community Decorators 

This project is a continuation of the highly successful community decorators' project first funded by Back on the Map in 2006. It seeks to continue the core design of the project and to strengthen areas of inclusion following the evaluation undertaken in December 2007.

The project will continue to offer young people from the East End and Hendon an apprenticeship in Painting and Decorating to be achieved over approximately 18 months (the length of apprenticeship is dependant on the outcome of initial assessment with each individual). The young people will be offered an apprenticeship wage in line with LSC (Learning and Skills Council) recommendations and their practical work will lead to a full apprenticeship which is a Level 2 NVQ plus all key and core skills which are part of the framework. This should then enable them to find full time employment within the construction industry.
